Hands down, one of the most scenic and photographic back country flying destination. The runway, 3200′ long at an elevation of 4850′, is just north of the Middle Fork Flathead River in the Great Bear Wilderness. Thanks to the Montana Aeronautical Division, the forest service, the Montana Pilots Association and the Recreation Aviation Foundation, the heavily wooded campground facilities and runway are well kept. Drinking water, a pit toilet, fire pits with grills, tables, bear boxes and hand tools provide for the ultimate flying back country experience.
